About Emma
I was born in Zimbabwe and lived there until I went to study Fine Art in Surrey, England.
I have always been inspired by Africa and the African art I grew up with in various ways; the simplicity of line, the solidness of the sculptures and more recently the intense colours.
Always present in my work too is my fascination with people; their emotions, their bodies and relationships.
Anyone or any thought could become subject matter. I prefer to work on large scale canvas, usually in acrylic, and always playing with the textures and layers of paint.
